Super fixers!

Hi guys,

So things are really starting to come together now, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it looks so so pretty!

This week we have completed the kitchen cabinets with hardware,

This took ages but we adore the finished product, I don’t have the pictures yet as we think we are going to hold off on any more of the kitchen until the tile is in and it’s all done which will hopefully be by the end of this week!

Jeff also worked hard to finish our vanity finally and it is BEAUTIFUL! So so excited now that it’s in, we will be making a full post on the details of retrofitting a washstand/dresser into a vanity and using milk paint to do so once we are settled into the house, but here are a few pictures of the process.

What do you guys think of the finished product? I love it! The colour really goes so so well with our tiles and the distressing really fits with the older home.

We also finished painting the hobby room in record timing and Paul did a beautiful job with the flooring and the baseboards, there are some more really lovely details he included and we will post more on those later but here is a sneak peak at the room.

We still need to replace the register and put the lighting back up but doesn’t it look great?! Sorry this has been a photo heavy post rather than lots of news but we are getting really close to done now and we are exhausted! A few jobs left to complete are, painting the closets in the bedrooms, the dining room (which is currently the workshop) and the laundry room. We also need to decide what to do with the stairs, finish the lighting and clean the glass doors in the shower of all the goop and gross in the silicone sealer. The biggest job right now is the vapour barrier in the attic, here’s a picture of Jeff working on it a couple of nights ago, once this is all finished and insulated we can move in!

As always we look forward to all you comments!

  1. Fantabulous!!! Love the vanity – really a good job! Look how good it looks in situ too. Also loving the look of the hobby room – great chice of floor colour. It seems like everything is coming together as the words “moving in” have been mentioned!!!! I bet you can’t wait for that. As always I love reading the blog but as soon as I read the last word I’m waiting for the next. Don’t apologise about photos – the more the merrier – it’s great to see your progress. You must all be wishing for the jobs to come to an end – in the meantime though – keep up the hard work. Love to you both Aunty Ali xxxx
